Description/Job Summary

This position is responsible for taking orders and delivering beverages to customers. The goal is to provide an excellent overall guest experience. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job as it pertains to this position. 

This position works under limited supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after sever weather and/or disasters. 

Required Qualifications

  • Prefer experience in food services or related services, including food preparation and cooking.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.
  • Proficient in customer service.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety principles.
  • Must be able to independently and proficiently complete work with little or no supervision.
  • Understand oral and/or written instructions.

Details

This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to customers at a limited number of tables, using proper rules of etiquette. Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Obtain food and paper supplies for the Coffee Shop. 
  • Stock area as needed. 
  • Follow GCE cash handling standards. 
  • Prepare hot and cold beverages per recipe and per Starbucks standards. 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, and frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to be on his/her feet for extended periods of time. The employee frequently must walk, stand, carry, reach, and lift. The employee occasionally must bend, squat, push or pull. This job will require lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Exposure to extreme temperatures due to steam and heat from equipment, and refrigeration. Work area subject to high noise levels, sharp tools and cutting hazards. Schedules are subject to change. 

Most work will take place indoors. Will work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. Will require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays.
