The Cook II will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present various hot and cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special Events. The position's general responsibilities include those listed below, but GCE may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in food service or be eligible for the AbilityOne Program.
Must understand oral and/or written instructions.
Must have the ability to read and quantify recipes and menus.
Must be able to interact appropriately with customers, personnel, and GCE management staff. Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract(s).
Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
While performing this job's duties, the team member is regularly required to stand and walk and frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The team member is required to be on his/her feet for extended periods of time. The team member frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. This job will require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs, and may require occasional lifting and or moving up to 50 pounds. Exposure to extreme temperatures due to steam and heat from cooking, dishwashing, and refrigeration. Work area subject to high noise levels, sharp tools and cutting hazards. Schedules are subject to change.
Most work will take place indoors. Will work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. Will require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays.

The hourly rate for this posiiton is $14.93.
