Overview:

The Nutrition Aide is an entry-level position responsible for safely performing food service duties as assigned by management. Quality customer service is expected to be provided to customers at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job as it pertains to this position.

Requirements:

  • Experience in healthcare food service preferred.

  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract(s).

  • Must understand oral and/or written instructions.

  • Must interact appropriately with customers, personnel, and staff members.

  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

Job Functions:

  • Obtain menu selections according to the prescribed diet order.

  • Offer alternatives to the menu as allowed on the prescribed diet according to any cultural, religious, or ethnic preferences.

  • Follow universal precautions/patient isolation procedures.

  • Follow facility guidelines for two patient identifiers.

  • Set up hot and cold food serving stations according to departmental guidelines/diagram.

  • Serve correct portion sizes according to the menu.

  • Assemble trays in compliance with the prescribed diet order making sure food and condiments are correct.

The hourly rate for this position is $11.4100

 Physical Requirements:

  • While performing this job's duties, the team member is regularly required to stand and walk and frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The team member is required to be on his/her feet for extended periods. The team member frequently must squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. This job will require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. and may require occasional lifting and or moving up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. Will work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. Will require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours and weekends and holidays.
