Overview

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the oversight and management of assigned governmental contracts. This position is responsible for oversight and management of performing duties as detailed in the PWS or other contracted services. Quality customer service is expected to be provided to the customer at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position. Assist Project Manager in the daily operation of specific contract services delivered to customers in a timely and quality manner.  Responsible for job training for staff, including safety lessons from GCE training materials. Orientate and train new employees in the safe and proper operations of equipment. Participate in and/or conduct safety meeting as required.  Assist Project Manager in preparation of budgets and Quality Control planning. Distribute work assignments per contract requirements. Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers. Perform direct contract functions and/or labor as required. Inform Project Manager of any workload changes and/or variations. Respond to customer complaints and special requests. Oversee contract site Quality Control inspection program. 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years previous supervising or leading teams.
  • Minimum 2 years of food service management or related experience.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.
  • Be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Be physically able to perform general tasks detailed in the assigned contract(s).
  • Interact appropriately with customers and employees.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and be insurable under agency policy.
  • Have good management communication (writing and verbal) and people skills,
  • Experience dealing with government personnel / customers in relation to contracted services.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge. (Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.).
  • Global Connections to Employment is a federal contractor and will follow the federal mandate that team members being hired must have received, be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or have an approved exemption by date of hire to obtain/maintain employment on this federal installation.

Physical

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
