Description/Job Summary

Overview

The Shift Leader III must  be able to perform the following duties.  Duties may vary depending on contract specifications and building assignment.  Assist management in the daily operation of specific contract services delivered to customers in a timely and quality manner.  Assist with job training for staff, including safety lessons from LCI/GCE training  materials.  Orientate and train new employees in the safe and proper operations of equipment.  Distribute work assignments to employees as directed by management.   Ensure team has supplies and equipment needed to perform the daily required tasks.  Perform preventative maintenance and minor repair of equipment as necessary.  Responsible for keys, combinations, and equipment and/or asset control.  Responsible for securing building when work is complete.  Responsible for placement of sign in/ time sheets in buildings.  Assist with payroll information and time management of employees.  Assist with employee evaluations.  Monitor and document progress of employees when meeting job requirements.  Assist with establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with customers.  Respond to customer complaints and special requests.  Follow up with contract POC for service clarification.  Perform direct contract functions and/or labor 25% of the work day.  Inform P.M. of any changes that occur in the buildings.  Attend required GCE and LCI in-service training.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervising or leading teams. 
  • Minimum two (2) years of food service experience.   
  • Be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate. 
  • Be physically able to perform general tasks detailed in the assigned contract. 
  • Interact appropriately with customers and employees.

Physical

  • May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions.
  • Most work will take place indoors.
  • May work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. 
  • Schedules are subject to change.
  • May require working early morning, mid morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. 
  • Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • May be required to remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow shovels or snow plows.
