Description/Job Summary


This position is responsible for providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) services in support of programs that are responsible for the evaluation, testing, fielding and support of VHA SimLEARN and REdI projects.  Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) services in support of PdM MedSim VHA office SimLEARN and REdI programs which are responsible for the evaluation, testing, fielding and support of VHA SimLEARN and REdI projects.  Assist the Government Team in researching and identifying new training capabilities for current and future VHA initiatives. Participate in program management reviews, technical meetings, system testing, demonstrations, and system fielding’s and makes recommendations as appropriate based on their personal experiences in actual application or training. Prepare and present briefings to, and interact with, senior leaders, both within and outside the Organization, to include VHA stakeholders and agency training managers.


  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.
  • Be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Must be able to interact appropriately with customers and employees.
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
  • Basic understanding of hospital/clinical operations learned from training or actual experience. 
  • Basic understanding of clinical protocols as they pertained to the medical positions within a hospital/clinical environment.
  • Previous experience as Armed Forces medical personnel.
  • Expert/Working knowledge of training methodology as it pertains to the use of simulation devices in medical training.
  • Expert/Working knowledge of hospital/clinical – based medical terminology.
  • Strong Medical/Hospital (theater-level) / Clinical background
  • Previous experience as a Registered Nurse, Combat Medic, Combat Corpsman, Aerospace Medical Service Technician (Combat), or comparable role.
  • Previous experience in Medical Training / Instructor or related field.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
