Description/Job Summary

This is an AbilityOne contract which requires most work hours must be performed by a Team Member with Significant Disabilities. Due to the program requirements, this requisition needs to be filled by a person that meets the AbilityOne criteria.

Overview

The Vegetable Prep Specialist must be able to interact appropriately with customers, government personnel and GCE Management Staff.  Must perform duties required:  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.  Adhere to government standard operating procedures.  Insure proper rotation of food based on expiration dates.  Must be able to perform mathematical calculations.  Must be able to perform work in cold temperatures.  Must understand kitchen and equipment safety regulations.  Must be able to garnish and decorate food for serving line.  Adhere to government standard operating procedures.  Must be able to read and use Military recipe card service.

Qualifications

  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on AbilityOne contract.
  • Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions
Physical
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifting 75 pounds with or without assistance
  • Constant standing, bending, lifting, stooping and walking
  • Frequently pushing carts filled with food and other supplies
