Description/Job Summary


The EVS Assistant Project Manager I must be able to perform the following duties. Duties may vary depending on contract specifications and building assignment. Assist the Project Manager in the oversight and management of specific contract services delivered to customers in a timely and quality manner. Assume the role of “acting” Project Manager in their absence. Responsible for job training for staff, including safety lessons from GCE training materials. Orientate and train new employees in the safe and proper operations of equipment. Promote a safe work environment. Participate in and/or conduct safety meeting as required. Assist the Project Manager in preparation of budgets and quality control planning. Assist in interviewing, selecting, and training employees to enhance productivity and efficiency of the work force. Manage employees so as to promote maximum productivity, achievement of program goals, and favorable employee retention. Participate in annual employee performance evaluations for all direct reports. Address employee complaints in accordance with company policies and procedures. Discipline employees in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assist with supervisory administrative duties including: weekly scheduling, time sheets, expense reports, etc. Maintain current competence through continuing education. Maintain compliance with mandatory training requirements.


  • Minimum two (2) years previous supervising or leading teams.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Custodial Service or related experience.
  • Be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Be physically able to perform general tasks detailed in the assigned contract(s).
  • Interact appropriately with customers and employees.
  • Possess knowledge of Ability One mission and expectations.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and be insurable under agency policy.
  • Have good management communication (writing and verbal) and people skills.
  • Experience dealing with government personnel / customers in relation to contracted services.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge. (Excel, Microsoft Word, etc…)


  • May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors.
  • May work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.
  • Schedules are subject to change.
  • May require working early morning, mid morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow shovels or snow plows.
