Description/Job Summary

This is an AbilityOne contract which requires most work hours must be performed by a Team Member with Significant Disabilities. Due to the program requirements, this requisition needs to be filled by a person that meets the AbilityOne criteria.

Overview

The Swimming Pool Operator will be responsible for:  Filling pools and testing water for proper chlorine content. Regulating feeders and utilizing prescribed chemicals to specific instruction to purify water. Checking heating and pumping equipment and making minor repairs and adjustments. Changing chlorine tanks as required. Removing debris from water utilizing a variety of specified equipment. Cleaning and repairing filter systems. Responsible for maximizing existing resources to support departmental budget requirement. Attend and successfully complete all mandatory training requirements. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines. Perform duties required by site specific statement of work.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 1 year of experience with pool maintenance/lifeguard.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on the specific contract.
  • Must be able to comprehend both written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to work overtime and be on call as required in the support of FM operations.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Must have a current valid drivers license, good driving record and be insurable under the center’s policy.
  • Must be able to safely perform essential functions described below.

Physical

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds.
