Description/Job Summary


The Groundskeeper must be able to perform the following duties, duties may vary depending on contract specifications and building assignment.   Operate Grounds & Lawn Maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, weed & edge trimmer, gas blowers, tree trimmers, etc. Remove tree limbs, leaves, debris, etc. from grounds.  Ability to work outside year round.  Pressure wash concrete and/or buildings if required.  Clean windows from cobwebs, grass, dirt, etc.   Clean out flower beds, bushes, etc.   Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure it functions properly.  Maintain cleanliness and neatness of storage shed.  Report supply needs and equipment that need replacing or repairing.  Complete custodial duties as assigned by Manager and/or based on the outside weather conditions.  Will be needed to assist with Custodial duties including: Restrooms, Trash, Floors, Dusting, Surface cleaning, etc.  Comply with training of chemical use: mixing, storage, disposal.   Perform duties required by site specific statement of work and/or as assigned by Project Manager.


  • Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.
  • One (1) year of grounds maintenance experience required.
  • Understand oral and/or written instructions.
  • Interact appropriately with customers, government personnel and staff members.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must to able to assist in lifting equipment and moving furniture when necessary and will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
