Description/Job Summary

Overview:

This position will serve as the FOIA/PA clerk.  Duties require strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others within and outside the organization while reflecting a professional image.  Work requires a familiarity with the terminology of the office unit. Must select appropriate methods from a wide variety of procedures or makes simple adaptations and interpretations of a limited number of substantive guides and manuals. The clerical steps often vary in type or sequence, depending on the task. Recognized problems are referred to others. Receives, establishes control, assigns case numbers, and tasks appropriate unit/activity to produce requested information for all FOIA/PA requests.  Ensures each request is responded to within the specified time frame and contains a full response; i.e., all the information requested, the appropriate stated exemption if denial is recommended, or a "No Record Certification."  Reviews requested information, redacts exempted information (if required), obtains legal review, and forwards information to the requester and the appropriate Initial Denial Authority for release determination, if applicable. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a clerical office setting.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to obtain Secret level of U.S. Government Clearance.
