Description/Job Summary

This is an AbilityOne contract which requires most work hours must be performed by a Team Member with Significant Disabilities. Due to the program requirements, this requisition needs to be filled by a person that meets the AbilityOne criteria.


This position is responsible for safely performing janitorial duties as assigned by management. Quality service is expected to be provided to customer at all times. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position.  Duties include:  Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop flooring.  Deck scrubbing tile and concrete floors.  Empty trash cans and deposit trash in appropriate receptacles.  Replace trash liners neatly and clean trash bins and lids- inside and out.  Clean ground level interior and exterior glass windows and doors.  Dust accessible surfaces and furniture.  Disinfect phones.  Clean baseboards, vents and door jams.  Clean restroom: sinks, counters, toilets, urinals, dispensers, etc.  Re-stock paper products and soap.  Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure it functions properly.  Keep carts, caddies and storage/janitorial closets orderly.  Report supply needs and equipment that need replacing or repairing.  Spot clean walls.  Clean and sanitize break rooms, common areas, and kitchen areas to include: sinks, counters, microwave, refrigerator, tables, chairs, etc.


  • Must meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort.  
  • Must understand oral and/or written instructions.  
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.  
  • Must be physically able to perform general tasks detailed in the assigned contract.  
  • Must be able to interact appropriately with customers, government personnel and staff members.
  • May travel to and from various locations and building throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors.
  • Will work with cleaning chemicals.
  • Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.
  • Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours; as well as weekends and Holidays.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
