We are expanding our information technology training program at Global Connections to Employment.  Position is flexible to work in Lorton, or (metro accessible) office in Arlington, Virginia.  This manager role will be key in designing, planning and implementing our information technology training programs across multiple locations.   Teach and mentor IT trainees, and persons with disabilities, to enable those qualified to advance within our organization to support our DMDC customer for DoD.

Position Summary

The IT Technical Training Manager directs the design, planning, and implementation of information technology training programs, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience Requirement: 7+ years prior experience implementing IT training.
  • Prior experience implementing training programs for individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Capable of dealing with all levels of management, client executives and representatives, and external vendors.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, quantitative skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment, handling and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Must have foundational understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts and be able to instruct beginning and intermediate level Java.
  • Must have working knowledge of relational database management systems and be able to instruct beginning and intermediate level SQL.
  • Must have foundational knowledge of various software development methodologies to include Agile and be able to instruct on these concepts.
  • Must have foundational understanding of various program flow notation including standard flow charts and unified markup language (UML) and be able to instruct on these concepts.
  • Must have foundational understanding of the software quality assurance process according to the ISTQB standard and be able to instruct on these concepts.
  • Must have foundational understanding of the business analyst process according to the CBAP standard and be able to instruct on these concepts.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense processes and terminology is desirable.
