Description/Job Summary

This position is responsible for safely performing custodial services in a mental health treatment environment assigned by management. Quality service is expected to be provided to customers at all times. Must have the knowledge, ability, and willingness, to learn and perform all aspects of all job duties necessary for services provided.

Responsibilities/Duties

Must be able to perform the following duties. Duties may vary depending on contract specifications and building assignment.Vacuum carpeted floors. Sweep, and damp mop hard floors. Empty trash receptacles, to include general and bio hazardous waste, and dispose in appropriate locations for waste stream management. Replace trash can liners neatly; Clean trash bins and lids inside and out. Safeguards and properly disposes of confidential information from service area ensuring all confidential trash is placed in provided locked bins for appropriate collection and shredding. Clean ground level interior glass windows and doors. Dust accessible surfaces, fixtures, and furniture.Disinfect phones. Clean and disinfect patient rooms and restroom daily. Replenish supplies including all paper products, hand soap and hand sanitizer. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure it functions properly. Neatly maintain the cleanliness and orderly of carts, caddies and storage/janitorial closets. Report supply needs and equipment that need replacing or repairing. Spot clean walls.

Required Experience

Must have minimum one (1) year custodial / janitorial experience.

Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.

Understand oral and/or written instructions.

Interact appropriately with customers, patients, family members and coworkers.

Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
