Description/Job Summary

This position is responsible for taking orders and delivering food and beverages to customers. The goal is to provide an excellent overall guest experience. Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job as it pertains to this position. 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract. 
  • Understand oral and/or written instructions. 
  • Ability to answer questions regarding menu options. 
  • Interact appropriately with customer and staff members. 
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate. 

Details

This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to customers at a limited number of tables, using proper rules of etiquette. Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Greets and seats customers. 
  • Presents customers with menus. 
  • Makes appropriate meal suggestions and answers questions regarding food preparation. 
  • Writes a food check and/or memorizes the order. 
  • Relays the order to the kitchen. 
  • Accepts payment, refers customers to the cashier or operates the cash register. 
  • Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment. 
  • Carves meat, fish or poultry and/or prepare flaming dishes and desserts. 
  • Carries and distribute supplies and equipment. 
  • Assists in clearing and resetting tables. 
  • May assist others in the preparation of foods and properly store food



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, and frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to be on his/her feet for extended periods of time. The employee frequently must walk, stand, bend carry and lift. This job will require lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Exposure to extreme temperatures due to steam and heat from cooking, dishwashing, and refrigeration. Work area subject to high noise levels, sharp tools and cutting hazards. Schedules are subject to change. 

Most work will take place indoors. Will work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. Will require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays.
